  • The commitment of Elk Grove High School's newest Academy is a chance to develop young minds in the ever important and expanding digital world. It will promote life-long learning, effective communication, and respect for self and others. The students will become problem solvers, self-directed learners, quality producers, collaborative workers, and community contributors.

    This academy will provide students with the knowledge and experience necessary to pursue either immediate career opportunities or further education at the post secondary level. The academy's teaching will focus on Project Based Learning (PBL), designed to give students real world experience in the problem solving skills required to successfully pursue their goals in the growing field of digital technology. The academy will provide students with solid art and design fundamentals, coupled with advanced courses in one of two concentrations, either Digital Photography or Computer Graphics. Applications and more detailed information for the programs are downloadable from this website: This academy is taught through a collaborative cross-curriculum effort where smaller classes are offered and will students get the opportunity to hear guest speakers and go on field trips. It is a collaboration of students, teachers, and community partners structured to enable students to practice and gain knowledge to pursue digital arts technology in unlimited directions. Core courses are required of all Academy students and include Academy English, mathematics, science, and social studies. In addition, students focus on digital arts and technology classes. In the Academy the students will have the opportunity to pursue and be exposed to a variety of disciplines including Computer Graphics, Graphic Design, Digital Photo, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Media Arts, Photography and Digital Photo Illustration as well as the solid core high school classes.
